PHARMALEADS has developed a specific, reliable and easy to use field assay (EzyBOT® A and EzyBOT® B) to detect traces of botulinum toxin (A and B) in water within minutes.
This very innovative technology relies on a unique substrate designed by Pharmaleads that features an original fluorogenic complex (the Pya-fluorophore / Nop-repressor couple) using the ICIFQ (Internal Collision-Induced Fluorescence Quenching) technology. A small peptidic sequence identified by Pharmaleads and embedded in the middle of this fluorogenic complex is a target for cleavage by botulinum toxins. When in the presence of the toxin this sequence is cleaved which in turn liberates the fluorescence of the Pya Fluorophore, at that time no longer repressed by the Nop-repressor.
As shown in diagram below, by cleaving the substrate, the botulinum toxin prevents the quencher (NoP) from acting on the PyA which therefore induces a very intense fluorogenic signal which can be read by the fluorimeter provided.

PHARMALEADS products show high reliability and a direct relationship of fluorescence emission and toxin quantity.
Robust and reliable, the test shows perfect linearity between fluorescence and toxin concentrations allowing quantitative measurements if needed.
