Pharmaleads, as a successful Biotechnology and Medicinal Chemistry Company specializing in enzyme interactions involved in physiological pathways, has mastered, through its almost ten year history, key technologies such as co-crystallisation, modeling and design of specific inhibitors and substrates. Pharmaleads has also developed a novel fluorescent technology allowing the rapid identification and characterization of inhibitors and substrates. Among all enzyme families, Pharmaleads has developed a special feel for zinc dependent metallo-proteases such as BoNT, neutral endopeptidase (NEP), aminopeptidase N (APN) or LTA4 hydrolase.
In its own laboratories, Pharmaleads can fully characterize all newly synthesized substrates and inhibitors (using NMR, mass spectrometry, fluorescence...) and is also able to manufacture up to a few grams of all these new molecules. Their biochemical properties are also fully determined in-house. Pharmaleads is also able when designing new drug candidates to test them in vivo in mice and rats.
Applications of this technology have been demonstrated in different domains such as novel drug design and also diagnostic tools such as markers or industrial reagents.
